Plastic China - September 24
Zero Waste Youth USA is screening the award winning documentary, "Plastic China" - the film that gave rise to China's recent waste ban policy, also known as National Sword. The film profiles a young girl and her family who live next to a recycling plant, in mountains of plastic waste from Asia, Europe and the U.S. Following this and other families' daily lives, Plastic China explores how the work of recycling plastic waste with bare hands takes a toll not only on people's health, but also their own dilemma of poverty, disease, pollution, and death.
